Argentina football board circulates a manual with tips for picking up Russian women

The Football World Cup is just around the corner. This year it will be in Russia. And we all know what this means for some people. Russian women are in demand from many quarters and the Argentine Football Association dedicated an entire chapter called “how to chance with a Russian girl” in a manual that was handed to the journalists heading to Russia.

<script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

The AFA noted the blunder and immediately took action. A course was going on to train the journos and it was stopped mid-session to confiscate the pages. What was even more shocking was the fact that the manual carried the AFA seal on it. Nacho Catullo, the journo who discovered it, anticipated the move and ripped away the pages and even took a few pictures of them.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”es” dir=”ltr”>Hay más <a href=”https://t.co/jw6zHl3Or5″>pic.twitter.com/jw6zHl3Or5</a></p>&mdash; Nacho Catullo (@nachocatullo) <a href=”https://twitter.com/nachocatullo/status/996455475746091013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>May 15, 2018</a></blockquote>
<script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

The course was being taught by a Russian language teacher named Eduardo Pennisi, and the manual, titled Russian Language and Culture, has been written by him.

A few of the pointers have been translated to English by Deadspin:

“What to do in order to have an opportunity with a Russian Girl”

Russian girls, like any other girls, pay close attention if you’re clean, you smell good and if you dress well. The first impression is very important for them, they pay attention to your image.

Russian girls do not like to be seen as objects. Many men, because Russian women are beautiful, only want to take them to bed. Maybe they want it too, but they are people who want to feel important and unique.

Russian girls hate boring men.

Don’t be negative.

Do not ask the typical questions, be original, usually they like to know about you, so give them some information about you.

Russian women like the men that take the initiative…

Normally they do not like you to monopolize the conversation. I see that problem in men who are very selfish or sometimes with men who get nervous talking to a pretty girl.

Don’t try to impress the girl in the wrong way. Maybe you will try to impress her by talking about the money you have, that you know everything that you are perfect and the others are stupid poor people.

Normally Russian women pay attention to important things, but of course, you will find girls who only pay attention to material things, to money, if you are handsome, whatever.

Well, this indeed is shocking.

The AFA apologised for the incident and even issued a statement saying that they had held an internal investigation, and it was found that the material had been “printed by mistake.” Reports mentioned that the chapter was lifted from a blog but it is unclear who included in the manual.

This report comes a few months after a huge women march that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city, where protestors demanded an end to violence against women.

Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, trolled over petrol tweets

Petrol prices drive us crazy. We rant about it, tear up our hair but give in and walk up to our cars every day. It’s a vicious cycle. And even top celebrities in Bollywood face the issue – just ask Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. The duo came under social media scrutiny after fans noticed a tweet over the issue, dating as far back as 2012, was deleted.

The tweet in question complained about the rising petrol prices in the country, a concern that still holds true today. As we recall, 2012 was when the UPA government was in power. That’s not all, another tweet went missing from Akshay’s timeline, where he rued that he couldn’t reach home as all of Mumbai had queued up for petrol before prices shot up.

Khiladi’s fans were unimpressed. While some questioned the actor’s silence, others accused him of siding with the present government.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>It is painful to see that your favourite actor <a href=”https://twitter.com/akshaykumar?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>@akshaykumar</a> has been turned into a political stooge. Amitabh Bachchan too was not spared. Followers realised that just like Akshay, he too had taken a swing at the erstwhile government. You’d think that for someone who is extremely serious about his Twitter following, he’d be more careful.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>The price of petrol and diesel in the Modi government is skyrocketing, inflation is at its peak level,<br><br>Before 2014, Amitabh, Ashok Pandit, Vivek Agnihotri, Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher, who oppose rising prices of petrol and diesel, why silent? <a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/FuelLootBySuitBoot?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>#FuelLootBySuitBoot</a> <a href=”https://twitter.com/IYC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>@IYC</a> <a href=”https://t.co/aL6CyLmvYz”>pic.twitter.com/aL6CyLmvYz</a></p>&mdash; संजीव शर्मा (@SanjeevINC) <a href=”https://twitter.com/SanjeevINC/status/998797488143323136?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>May 22, 2018</a></blockquote>
<script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

Some users also went ahead and shared screenshots of Anupam Kher, Vivek Agnihotri, and others, wondering why they are still silent, even though petrol prices are rising as we speak. The current petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 84.70 per litre.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Been reading about some stars who spoke against fuel price hikes pre 2014, but haven&#39;t now. Meanwhile Vishal Dadlani came out in support of the actors who were trolled online. He iterated that India is a free country and it is the right of citizens to voice their opinions. The surge in petrol prices has hurt citizens a lot, and while comments from celebs may help to curb the issue, it did them no favour to delete the older tweets.

WATCH: A new dialogue promo of Harshvadhan Kapoor’s ‘Bhavesh Joshi’ is now out

Harshvardhan Kapoor is banking upon his upcoming superhero flick to make a strong comeback to Bollywood. His debut film ‘Mirzya’ sank at the box office without making much noise, although the film was aesthetically applauded. Given we do not have too many superhero films in Hindi, this one could fare well if it struck the audience right.

The trailer of Bhavesh Joshi released a few days back and received mixed response. Moving on, the makers have now released a dialogue promo. Check it out below!

Vikramaditya Motwane, whose previous directorial venture ‘Trapped’ was a success, is trying his hand on the superhero genre for the first time. While many assume the film is going to be a rip off of a number of Hollywood superhero films, some believe it’s going to be packed with thrilling action, and a fun ride as well!

The film, which was supposed to hit screens on May 25 earlier, has been postponed to 1st June. Incidentally, that’s the day Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Veere Di Wedding’ also releases. This makes it a brother vs sister scene at the box office!

‘Veere Di Wedding’ is making all the right noise, thanks to its ensemble cast. Also, it is both Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s first film after marriage and pregnancy respectively. Considering that, ‘Bhavesh Joshi’ has got little chances of conquering the box office. Let us wait and see how it unfolds!

Harshvardhan Kapoor is also working on shooter Abhinav Bindra’s biopic, helmed by Kannan Iyer.

Deepika’s dig at her younger sister proves that elder siblings are PURE EVIL at times

Elder siblings bully and that is a fact even Nostradamus would have put a stamp on, if asked. They adore their younger siblings as much as they take their ire out on them. And of course they never leave a chance to take their younger one’s case, even if it’s on a public platform. Our B-townies are no different when it comes to setting sibling goals. The latest one who is making us laugh out loud, is Deepika Padukone.

Deepika shares an eccentrically charged relationship with her younger sister Anisha, which is the same as all siblings, celeb or not. The two even appeared on Neha Dhupia’s show ‘Vogue BFFs’ and had us rolling on the floor with their revelations about each other.

This time Deepika took it upon herself to be the evil elder sibling, and took to Instagram to share a meme which was sent to her by her sister. Quite a personal thing between siblings, but Dippy played the evil elder sister card and showed it to her fans and public alike, how she is the ‘poor’ one here being tortured by her younger sister.

Well played, Deepika. We are LOLing so hard here.

On the work front, Deepika was last seen in the titular role in ‘Padmaavat’ which released this year after much opposition from Rajput organisations, predominantly Karni Sena. She will also be seen in a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Zero’.

Gully Boy Ranveer or Nerdy Boy Farhan: Whose abs are stealing your sleep?

Ranveer Singh is a sizzling hot piece of pie! Apologies for the objectification, but the shirtless pictures of himself that he posts on his Instagram are a thirst trap we don’t want to come out of. And the 32-year-old is certainly taking advantage of the fact. He posted a well-oiled picture of his abs, the Gully Boy way, and we were floored. But wait a minute, he was not the only one. Farhan Akhtar, who too is one of the hottest B-townies, went ahead and posted a picture of him with his abs in progress and a pair of glasses and OH MY GOSH. We had no idea a 44-year-old could look so downright tempting! We are already on the sweaty side of the equator, and this picture of Farhan didn’t help matters much.

Take a look at both the pictures, of Gully Boy Ranveer and Nerdy Boy Farhan.

Cowabunga, dude ! #turtlepower🐢 #mondaymotivation

A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on

The phrase ‘As fit as a fiddle’ is perhaps shying away somewhere after looking at these two.

Coming back to mortal world, while Ranveer is currently busy with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, Farhan is reportedly working on the script of ‘Don 3’.

Keep it coming guys. Such pictures really make our boring working weekday, a better one.

From the shelves of Twinkle Khanna! 10 books that you should definitely pick up

Readers are bizarre creatures. They fall in love with the stories between the pages, and date the characters within. We have one such bookworm in the world of Bollywood too, though she left the field of acting long back, and doesn’t fail to take a dig at her ‘horrendous’ acting skills every now and then. She is one of the bestselling authors now, and married to one of the most successful B-town actors. We are of course, talking about Twinkle Khanna aka our very own Mrs Funnybones.

Twinkle Khanna is a voracious reader and often treats us to her current reads which often turn out to be fascinating stories. So all the bookworms, gather around as we are going to take you through the shelf of Twinkle Khanna.

Keshava, Bhawana Somaaya

This one is a gift from the author herself. Bhawana Somaaya is a veteran journalist and an author, and her latest, ‘Keshava’ is all about Lord Krishna, his magic, and his relationship with nature.

The Vegetarian, Han Kang

What happens when you are a couple that enjoys the same delicacies and one day, your partner decides to become a vegetarian. No wonder this hilarious pick is on Twinkle’s shelves.

A fisherman of the inland sea, Ursula K. Le Guin

Not just funny and slapstick books, Twinkle is fond of genres that indulge one in introspection too. This one is a winner of National Book Award and quite an overwhelming read.

A Man Called Ove, Fredrik Backman

This gorgeous story needs no introduction. And we need not wonder why Mrs Funnybones fell for this one.

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, Robin Sloan

A book about a mysterious bookstore, this one combines mystery with the love for reading, and just like Twinkle, we think we would be floored as well.

The Remains of the Day, Kazuo Ishiguro

This one’s a Pulitzer Prize Winner, and all about giving second chances in love. It’s a story of hope against the tides. One of Twinkle’s profound reads.

Erotic Stories For Punjabi Widows, Balli Kaur Jaiswal

This one is saucy, sexy and totally a riot. It’s quite understandable why it is present in Mrs Funnybones’ shelf.

My Brilliant Friend, Elena Ferrante

This is the book which hits at the heart of human emotion, as Twinkle so aptly puts it.

Tales from Firozsha Baag, Rohinton Mistry

This one is a recurring favourite of Mrs Funnybones.

The Course Of Love, Alain de Button

Falling in love is easy, but what happens after that. Read this one for a brutally real, ‘sans the rosy glasses’ take on love, for the psychology of a relationship as Twinkle calls it.

How many of these have you read? Planning to pick any?

After witnessing the luxurious Malaysian parliament, Shashi Tharoor wants an ‘upgrade’ in India too

Indian politician and our favourite (well, mostly) word marvel Shashi Tharoor recently flew to Malaysia. While on his visit, he made a trip to their parliament house. We are quite sure he has a lot of enriching takeaways from his trip and they would slowly make their way to his social media account. But in the immediate reaction… he said he was feeling a ‘pang of envy’!

It so happened, that Tharoor was taken aback to see how the MPs were treated with the most fitting and necessary facilities. He was quick to take to Twitter and tell us how he thinks the Indian parliament is in dire need to be upgraded as well!

The privileges that politicians and bureaucrats are entitled to, have stirred debates time and again. In fact, prior to every election, there is a huge hue and cry pertaining to how public money is spent on providing luxuries to them but the people get little in return. However, Tharoor’s tweet sounds like the public representatives do not have a comfortable experience at the parliament at all!
Now that you’ve made it public (and understandable too *winks*), sir, we wonder if it is going to fire a change anytime soon!

Arsenal news: Are the Gunners headed to another French kiss?

For many of us, when we mention Arsenal, it is hard to think of a team without Arsene Wenger, the Frenchman who managed the side for 22 years. But his time has come and after he called it quits, the club started off with a recruitment drive to find a replacement. While it was well known that Mikel Arteta was a favourite for the role, the club spoke to Unai Emery and a decision is expected to be confirmed later this week.

If Emery is indeed announced as the manager for Arsenal, this would mean that the Gunners are settling in for another French kiss after Wenger’s departure.

Reports suggest that following an evaluation, the brass at the Emirates felt Emery’s experience as manager gives him an edge over Arteta, who is a former Arsenal player. While Emery was a manager for Valencia, Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain, Arteta is well known as an assistant coach for Manchester City, a fact which helped tip the scales in Emery’s favour.

The Independent reports that on May 21, it was conveyed to Arteta that the club is going for Emery. The news reportedly spread to some players as well.

While Emery is not a French national, his two-year stint at PSG makes him as close to a French dude as it gets. Emery led PSG to the second spot in the group stage of the Champions League – just behind Arsenal. PSG beat Barcelona 4-0 in the first knockout round, but suffered a historic 6-1 loss subsequently, forcing them to be eliminated.

The new Arsenal manager is expected to be provided with £50m, besides money generated from sales. The funds are pretty much close to what Wenger received to reshape the squad.

Is Vidya Vox making her Bollywood debut with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Super 30’?

We won’t be wrong if we say that Vidya Vox is one of the most famous names in the world of pop music. Her version of songs surely impress us a lot and sometimes her versions are better than the original tracks. The singer rules YouTube with millions of views on her videos, and now, it looks like she is all set to rule Bollywood too. She is currently in Mumbai and recently met none other than the Greek God of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan.

On his Instagram, Hrithik Roshan posted a picture of himself with Vidya and captioned it as, “Ladies and gentlemen, Vidya Vox is in the house! My house! What do I say, I’m such a fan. Thank you for the music @vidyavox. Was wonderful meeting you and shankar.”

Both of their posts hint at a collaboration and that makes us wonder if Vidya will be giving music for Hrithik Roshan’s next ‘Super 30’. Well, if she is doing the music of the film, we simply can’t wait for the songs.

For the uninitiated, ‘Super 30’ is a biopic on mathematician Anand Kumar. The movie is being directed by Vikas Bahl and will be hitting the screens on January 25, 2018. It also stars Mrunal Thakur who will be making her big screen debut with the film. Actor Pankaj Tripathi also plays a pivotal role in the movie.
