Prince Mahesh Babu is all set for his next big release, Bharat Ane Nenu, which is being directed by Koratala Siva of Srimanthudu fame. Wishing his fans on the occasion of Ugadi on Sunday, Mahesh took to Twitter to drop a new poster from his upcoming film.

His fans already went crazy after the much-awaited teaser of Bharat Ane Nenu’was released recently, it received an overwhelming response from the audience and managed to clock more than 13 million views on YouTube.

Mahesh Babu’s last film, Spyder, failed to impress at the box office despite being lauded by critics. Naturally, there is huge pressure mounted on the superstar right now.

Earlier it was being said that Bharat Ane Nenu and Naa Peru Surya were likely to clash at the box office with Rajinikanth’s Kaala. However, the makers of both the films reportedly came to a settlement while Kaala’s release have been postponed.

Produced by DVV Entertainments, Bharat Ane Nenu also stars Kiara Advani as the leading lady and has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The movie is set for a worldwide release on April 20.

Speaking of working with Mahesh, Kiara was recently quoted by The Hindu saying, “He carries no baggage, is really chilled out and a team player. Today we had to finish five scenes and decided not to break for lunch and he was okay with it. He is absolutely professional and I really respect that and look up to him. He helped me here and there with the dialogues and is always laughing and joking. He only has to laugh and everyone catches on… he has that infectious energy.”

Kapil Sharma vs Sunil Grover fight sparks off once again

We all know the about the infamous and ugly fight between India’s favourite TV-standup-comedian Kapil Sharma and comedian and actor Sunil Grover. Eventually, Kapil’s popular programme, The Kapil Sharma Show was taken off air due to poor ratings. However, Kapil is back again with a brand new show titled Family Time With Kapil Sharma on the same channel, Sony. The show is touted to be a game show and will be co-hosted by Neha Pendse along with Kapil. He has already shot the pilot episode of his new show with Ajay Devgn. He managed to assemble most of his old performer friends including Kiku Sharna, Chandan Prabhakar and Sumona Chakraborty except one person – Sunil Grover. Now adding a fresh twist to the tale, on Saturday Grover said that he had not been approached for the show.

This immediately triggered the suppressed anger in Kapil who took to Twitter to clarify his stand on the matter and alleged that Sunil is clearly lying. He did not like the idea of Sunil taking it to social media.

But Sunil Grover too wasn’t ready to let it go. He responded to Kapil’s allegation with a long post on Twitter. He maintained that he has not been called for Kapil’s new show.Grover also indirectly jibed at Kapil’s drinking habits. Kapil replied too!

After his show went off the air, Kapil invested much of his time and energy on his film Firangi, which tanked at the box office miserably.

It seems that the war-of-words between the two ace comedians are not going to end soon. The telecast date of Family Time With Kapil Sharma hasn’t been declared yet.

Tourism Minister KJ Alphons to foreigners: No bikinis on Indian streets

Are you planning a Brazillian wax soon? Well, you might need to change your plans for a brand new diktat! Politicians in our country leave no stone unturned to do a little moral policing here and there. Recently, after a Goa minister called the North Indians ‘scum on the earth’, now union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons has issued a code of conduct for the tourists. Irrespective of whether they are from domestic or foreign land, they need to be dressed in sync with the tradition of the particular place they are visiting. The minister further condemned the bikini culture and said that in India people do not expect foreigners walking around in a two-piece.

The Tourism Minister made the remark on the dressing sense during an interview with NDTV and said, “Abroad, foreigners walk the streets in bikinis. When they come to India, you don’t expect foreigners to walk around in bikinis in our towns. In Goa, they do it on the beach. They don’t come to the town dressed like that. You must have a sense of understanding of the culture of the place and country that you go and behave accordingly.”

He further added, “There are cities in Latin America where people walk around in bikinis. It’s perfectly acceptable there. I have no problems with that. But when you come to a country, you must respect the culture and traditions of that place. I am not saying when you come to India wear a saree. No. You wear dresses that are acceptable.”

The minister, who had last year claimed that if the foreign tourists want to consume beef they can eat it in their country and then come to India, also said, “I am not saying you adopt Indian food habits. But there is a certain kind of behaviour that is acceptable. Whenever we go abroad, don’t we behave in the manner they expect us to? We do.”

He is known as the “demolition man” for his work in the Delhi Development Authority. The minister further asserted that he’s a “liberal” who believes in upholding the rights of people, but there must be a “bottom line”.

“I have the liberty to speak in a way but my liberty ends where your liberty begins. There are things that are considered acceptable in a country. Let us all learn to accept each other, respect each other,” said Mr Alphons, a retired IAS officer of the 1979 batch.

Mr Alphons, who was made a union minister last year also added that, “In restaurants abroad, be it in France or Germany, there is etiquette that says your conversation, your laughter should be limited to your table. If you laugh or speak loudly, either you will be thrown out or the entire restaurant will stare at you.”

Replace ‘Sindh’ with ‘Northeast’ in the national anthem: Congress MP Ripun Bora

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora on Friday, March 16 moved a private member’s resolution in the Rajya Sabha seeking to replace the word ‘Sindh’ in the national anthem with the word ‘Uttar Purv’ (North East) saying there is no point glorifying the place which belongs to a hostile nation. He also said that when the national anthem was adopted in 1950, the then President Rajendra Prasad had said if required the anthem would be amended in future. The resolution is expected to be taken up next week.

In the letter, Bora wrote, “North East is an important part of India, it is unfortunate that it is not part of the National Anthem on other hand Sindh is mentioned, which is no longer part of India but part of Pakistan, which is a hostile country.”

“Then President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad had in a statement on January 24, 1950 said the composition consisting of the words and music known as ‘Jana Gana Mana’ is the National Anthem of India subject to such alterations in the words as the Government of India may authorise as occasion arises,” the resolution added.

The issue of change in the National Anthem was earlier raised by Shiv Sena member Arvind Sawant in 2016.

An MP can move a private member’s resolution on an allotted day and those members who secure the first five places in the draw of lot for the day shall be eligible to give notice of one resolution each within 10 days of the date of the draw of lot.

The resolution shall satisfy the following conditions in order to be admissible: (i) it shall be clearly and precisely expressed; (ii) it shall raise substantially one definite issue; (iii) it shall not contain arguments, inferences, ironical expressions, imputations or defamatory statements etc.

Reacting to Bora’s demand, Lakhu Luhana of the World Sindhi Congress was quoted by ANI as saying, “Tagore had in-depth knowledge of history and so he put in Sindh in the national anthem. Can any sane nation remove the basis of its civilization? The answer is no. Though Sindh is a part of Pak now, most Sindhis don’t associate themselves with Pak.”

Relief for Jeetendra, Himachal Pradesh HC stays proceedings in sexual assault case

It’s a major relief for veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra. The Himachal Pradesh High Court has stayed further proceedings in the sexual assault case registered against him at Women Police Station Shimla by his cousin. The police had registered the case on February 16 under the provisions of “outraging the modesty of a woman” after his cousin filed an online complaint made after 47 years alleging that she was sexually harassed by him in a hotel in Shimla in January 1971. As of now, the court has listed the matter for further hearing on May 23.

Jeetendra challenged the FIR claiming that the police had registered the same without any preliminary investigation or evidence. The actor had sought to reject of the FIR as he was neither questioned by the police nor he was provided with a copy of the FIR. His counsel also added that the allegations were false and it’s a conspiracy to malign the image of the actor.

While issuing a notice to the respondent in the matter, Court of Justice Mohan Goel directed the complainant to file a reply within four weeks. Meanwhile, further proceedings in the FIR registered at Women Police Station, Shimla, under Section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC, have been stayed.

Earlier in February this year, the woman had claimed that Jeetendra, who is her aunt’s son, had arranged for her to join him from New Delhi to Shimla on the sets of a film he was shooting for in 1971. Apparently after reaching Shimla at night, the intoxicated actor went to her room, joined two twin beds and sexually assaulted her.

The complainant had told the police that all these years she remained silent because of her father. But now that he is no more, she finally gathered the courage to lodge a case against Jeetendra.

Ranveer Singh on Deepika Padukone: It’s a relationship of mutual admiration, blessed to have her

Ranveer Singh is one of those actors in Bollywood, who has always been a trendsetter, and not a follower. The actor, who most recently was lauded for his portrayal of Sultan Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, was present at the News18 Rising India Summit with none other than Rajeev Masand. When a fan asked him about his relationship with Deepika, the usually candid Ranveer replied, “I think it’s a relationship of mutual admiration. Though I rate her high on acting, and she doesn’t. There’s a lot to learn from her. She is amazing and I am blessed to have her in my life.”

Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one of the most celebrated celebrity couples in Bollywood now. “She says, ‘You’re just a ham,” he quipped, adding that she is “awesome” and that “there’s a lot to learn from her as an artiste”. He acknowledged that his Bajirao Mastani, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Padmaavat co-star has helped him become a “well-rounded human being” and that he is “blessed to have her in my life”.

Speaking of his flamboyance, Ranveer also said that it was in 2013 that something in him changed and he felt he didn’t need to try and fit in. “I felt I should say what I feel like, dress the way I feel like. It’s less taxing,” he said, recounting how earlier he “was trying to be somebody I was not”.

“If you see the remarks in my report cards, they add up to things that ‘he loves to entertain, he’s gregarious, vivacious’ and I was always pushing the style envelope even in the fourth standard. When the cable TV came in, I caught on the hip-hop style with MTV and copied Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg with the baggy jeans. I was ahead of the curve, and I have always been this way” he added.

The session came to an end with fans clicking selfies and dancing with Ranveer Singh on stage.
